International Conference on European Energy Markets 2026

Over two days, the event brought together directors and representatives from EDF R&D’s international centers, including Yves Desbazeille, alongside Jean-Philippe Buisson and Pascal Charles, Directors of EDF R&D Programmes, programme managers, and Bernard Salha, EDF Chief Technology Officer and R&D Director.

This year’s seminar focused on the electricity grid at the heart of Europe and its pivotal role in enabling the energy transition. The programme provided a valuable platform for discussions on current challenges, innovative solutions, and future opportunities for strengthening Europe’s energy system.

The event opened with a keynote address by Prof. Dr. Hagenmeyer (KIT), a member of EIFER’s Board, whose insights set the stage for productive exchanges throughout the seminar. Participants also benefited from contributions by the transmission system operator Amprion, whose perspective enriched the dialogue between research and industry.

The seminar was marked by a strong spirit of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and international exchange. EIFER thanks all participants and contributors for their valuable input and for sharing insights into their activities and role in Germany.
